If you are a returning customer you may be confused as to why we stopped including SIM cards for phones purchased for networks that use Sprint's cellular network like Boost Mobile, Ting, FreedomPop and Sprint. Please continue reading for details on why we made this change.
At Upward Mobile LLC we are not a big business. In fact we started in my basement a few years ago and we have now grown to more than 15 employees. As a man from humble roots I run Upward Mobile in a way that supports our customers and our local community. For that reason we pay good wages to our employees and invest more in customer support than any company of our size. Of our 15 employees close to half of them are in our Customer Experience department. That is why we respond so quickly to your questions and maintain a 100% positive feedback score on eBay.
SIM cards are one of our largest expenses and every Sprint SIM card costs roughly $5.50 for us. We ship more than 1500 phones every month that include Sprint SIM cards. This costs us $7000-$8000 per month.
Sprint SIM cards are reusable and a good portion of our customers that buy a phone from us are replacing their phone with the same model or they are upgrading to a similar model. There are only about 3-4 different types of Sprint SIM cards and each one of those different types works on a lot of different phones. For example one model SIM card is used on the Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, and Note 4. So for the majority of our customers we are shipping new SIM cards when their current SIM card will work just fine.
In addition the two main carriers that we sell for, Boost Mobile and Sprint, will give you a SIM card for free if you call them and request it. We have updated our Help Center with instructions for requesting your free SIM card which you can access by CLICKING HERE.
We will continue to include the Sprint SIM card when you update your order to Priority or Priority Express shipping.
For this reason we have decided to stop sending Sprint SIM cards with phones. We are reinvesting the $7000-$8000 per month into hiring additional staff and expanding our product offerings. We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions please reach out to our Support Team.
